ATA - Light Vehicle : A handsome return on your investment.

Following successful completion of the recent round of ROI studies, The IMI carried out a series of post-study interviews with senior management from each partner organisation. Like the studies themselves, the interviews make compelling reading - here is the second in our series.

Franco Boscarelli (IMI) interviews Ian Baillie (Halfords Autocentres):

Further to the recent ROI study about ATA involving your organisation, what are your thoughts about the findings?
The findings have been really positive and back up what we always believed was the case; that training and development were worthwhile investments.

In your opinion, does developing and training your employees impact positively upon the performance of the business ? Can you give examples ?
Absolutely it does -  we've seen increased performance, greater efficiency and higher customer satisfaction as measurable outcomes from our investment in ATA.

How important has ATA been to your organisation ?
It's been "key". Not only has it measurably increased performance but it's also been highly motivational for our staff!

Have the results of the recent ROI study had an impact upon your organisation's investment in  training, up-skilling and assessment?
We've always invested in training and development, but the ROI study has provided some clarity and as such has allowed us to apply a different model to what we do!

Going forward, do you plan to reduce, maintain or increase your investment in staff development ?
Increase for sure, it's really a "no brainer".
